Love The Possibilities

So this past weekend I decided to go to a conference to grow my mind and my support network. I love things like this because I always walk away feeling so excited, empowered, and full of possibilities. One awesome moment for me at this conference was when I was able to meet one of my favorite authors, Jack Canfield, co author of Chicken Soup for the Soul and The Success Principles.

This moment was so surreal for me because as a teenager, a School Counselor, and even now as a Coach, I have utilized his writings to inspire me and assist the people and students I work with. To meet the man behind the book gave me a sense of inspiration, hope, and most of all a possibility that you can do anything if you put your heart and mind to it.

Jack started out as a high school teacher and chose to go to seminars and workshops to better his classroom management and teaching skills. He soon had his fellow colleagues asking about these new skills and wanted him to teach them what he was finding to be effective for his students. The word spread and he eventually left his school and went on to train other teachers in other districts, which then led him to teaching these same skills in large corporations.

Jack found himself having the "crazy idea" to share this message that had become so effective in a bigger way which is where Chicken Soup for the Soul came from. He loved how people could connect with others stories and knew that this would be a way to reach thousands. So he went to work at creating his vision and after many people telling him no (144 to be exact) finally there was one publisher that said YES. Thank goodness because now there are over 100 million copies in print in over 54 languages! Just think how many people have been encouraged along the way. Thank you Jack for never giving up on your ideas or on your dream of helping people. I am lucky to say that I was definitely one of many impacted by these stories.

There were two main points that I took away from this story that I want to share with you:

1. Everything is created twice; first mentally and then physically. Stephen Covey

So... "TRUST YOUR CRAZY IDEAS"... Lee Silber

2. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to START to be great! Zig Ziglar

I know first hand that it can be overwhelming at times to think about pursuing your end goal and big dreams but I want to assure you that you are capable of whatever "crazy ideas" come into your mind; because they came to you for a reason. So doubt your doubts and just get started! I promise that is truly the hardest step...because once you take that first step there is a powerful momentum shift that will occur and then you can just keep building on that. (Think of the first step you took as a child... a few tumbles later and now look at you!) Same idea here. Instead of thinking impossible think "I'm Possible"! :) Just a shift...

As always if you need encouragement or are looking for strategies for ways to achieve your desired goal or dream I am here to assist you!

Thank You for Being You, and remember "The possibility of the unknown is what makes life worth living"!!!
