The 7 Gifts of Giving Birth

On May 5, 2015 at 9:56 I gave birth to my first born son Avery Franklin Stickel. I was able to do this naturally without any medication; instead I used a new way of thinking and doing called Hypnobirthing. This allowed me to TRUST my body and the process; Which reminded me of the first; and I believe most important gift; I was given:

Gift #1 Letting go and Letting God: TRUST

  • I have been equipped with an internal guidance and a system; I must allow myself to listen to my whisper and TRUST my internal compass.

  • CHANGE MY LANGUAGE and HOW I APPROACH LIFE: from pain to pleasure/from contraction to surge… of power! The abilitiy to create a new filter in which I experience things through

  • FORCE IS NOT NEEDED. my answers will come. .allowing God to do the magic and being grateful to be apart of the ride.

  • God is always making great things happen if we believe that they will. I love how this experience has rekindled this innocence and spirit within me. I love letting go and just TRUSTING, knowing that Good is going to happen and miracles are on their way.

Gift #2 ACCEPTANCE.

  • CHANGE. I totally understand why life changes because you no longer want to put yourself in environments that remind you of what you can’t do anymore. Unneccesary suffering comes from not accepting the moment as it is

  • I love being around nature but our purpose has shifted. So note to self; set ourselves up for success by being in an environment that is welcoming to the new version of us. This allows for excitement rather than awkward uncomfortableness.

  • The more I accept things as they are the more CONFIDENT I became. . I do know many things. Accept who I am and what I can offer.

Gift # 3 Perservere

  • Energy… to be so tired and yet have to sustain the life of another

  • PACE/Patience of life is slower; for one I can’t move around like I use to;

  • Watching avery learn to crawl and walk. Fall 7 get up 8

Gift # 4 Relaxation, Recouping, and Rekindling…

  • NAPPING; Down time is a must; This was easier when my body physically couldn’t move, so now that i am able I need to remember that you and I still need balance.

  • Dad and I need to always connect so that we stay united! And continue to be able to understand each other

  • Bathtime… & SHOWERS are like Gold. When I take them I feel like a whole new woman!

Gift #5 Self control, Self discipline, & Self Love= SELF CARE!

  • Nutrients/FUEL. You still get my nutrients and I want to stay healthy for you and I. Not just let go because I can…

  • letting go of instant gratification and remembering that there is a strength within far greater than any temptation.

  • I’m worth it too; and I feel better because of it…

Gift #6 SEEING THE BLESSING THAT IS IN FRONT OF ME: BEING PRESENT

  • Seeing the blessing that is in front of me instead of thinking that I am suppose to be somewhere else.

  • TIME; Seeing the value and power of TIME. Wow when it no longer feels like your own, when I get a moment to myself I now see the power and potential that it has. Being Present

  • EMBRACING EACH MOMENT

Gift #7 New Life & New Beginnings& New Possibiliites: When we change the lens in which we see the world our world changes!

  • The everyday wonder and magic of seeing life through the eyes and spirit of a child. The Smiles & giggles when tickled for the first time

  • The curiosity… and aweness in everyday moments that Avery is now experiencing for the first time: Ocean, Sand, Tickles,

  • and lastly: LOVE! Unlike any love I’ve ever felt or experienced before!

  • “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

  • It has by far been the most challenging thing I have ever done; and yet the most rewarding.
